(LIP-jl) -- According to a representative of the victims of a massacre that occurred during the presidency of Peru's Alberto Fujimori, the former president's extradition process in Chile "has suffered many setbacks" since Alan Garcia assumed Peru's presidency.
Gisela Ortiz, a representative of La Cantuta massacre, in which a university professor and nine students from the Limean university were abducted and "disappeared" by a military death squad, commented that Alan Garcia's administration has demonstrated a lack of 'interest' and 'political will' to facilitate Fujimori's extradition.
She indicated that a lack of will and concern is missing from getting the former president to answer to the Peruvian justice system.
"Unfortunately, we cannot say that we are properly represented by the government or that we have their full support," said Ortiz in a report conducted by Amnesty International.
