Peru: Photo of the day - A president that loves his people

(LIP-ir)  --  Peruvian President Alan Garcia is on the fourth day of his trip through Peru's highlands. He is visiting the people which are being affected by the cold wave which has put certain regions in a state of emergency. Garcia has personally been supervising the campaign which is collecting food, medicine and money for all of the victims of this year's cold wave. There have already been a considerable number of deaths this year due to the extremely cold temperatures in some regions of Peru.

He doesn't love all of his people: See Wikipedia: Peruvian Prison Massacres

Try this for Wikipedia rather than the first posting:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peru

then ask for Peruvian Prison Massacres

Mr. Smith, you left out the other portion of Wikipedia. http://enwikipedia.org/wiki/Shining_Path. There is also another site you failed to mention from your home town of Berkeley, California. www.csrp.org. You are right. You are a good tool Mr. Smith.Laughing

Speaking of the Shining Path, I came across this article that people, other than communists, will find interesting. www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=7889

September 12, 1992 will always be remembered by so many in this country. It is the day that Abimael Guzman, the once leader of the Shining Path, was captured. The atrocities this man and his followers commited, will never be forgotten. I heard that this Kamala Sarup was supposed to speak, or already has, at San Cristobal Huamanga school. It is were the murderer Mr. Guzman started his path of poisoning young minds as a teacher. Now he rots in jail were he belongs.

Miguel, you correct. I do not live in Peru. I therefore could not relate. My Peruvian wife can. But in regards to Americans killing innocent people, I am assuming you refer to Iraq. If that is the case, I will remind you that the British and other countries are over their as well. Innocents do get killed in any war. Sad but true my friend. The only true enemy is war its self as many would say. But here is another article by your fellow countryman, Ms. Kamala Sarup in regards to innocent deaths that I hope you will read. All The Best Mate. www.theconservativevoice.com/article/25662.html

I know your intentions are true, but I believe it is Dr. Naritoma that you are talking about. Kamala Sarup is from Napal & not Peru my friend. Unless I read the article wrong.

Miguel, the post is about Peru and Toledo, not the U.S. or any other country...

You're right. Maybe we all have been a little too intense. After all whatever is going to happen in Peru is going to happen and it is up to the Peruvians in the final analysis to decide what course they want their country to follow.
Happy 4th of July to everyone!

To be able use your computer to express your thoughts would be considered by many to be very rich. If you read the posts, they are not insulting our country, they only express concern that comminism could return. We do not need any more Abimael Guzman's telling us how we should live our lives.
