World Cup Commission Fires Uribe, New Coach to Earn $36k a Month - Peru

(LIP-ir) -- Peru's World Cup Commission, the special commission in charge of Peru's qualifying campaign for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, decided to fire Peru's National Selection coach, Julio Cesar Uribe late on Wednesday and stated that his replacement would be decided Wednesday July 25.

The announcement was made by members of the Commission José Mallqui and José Antonio Ríos who stated that after Peru's performance during Copa América Venezuela 2007, the Commission had taken the decision to fire Uribe as Peru's coach.

Mallqui stated, "My position was that Uribe should not continue because of the mistakes he had made. The first being what happened in Japan (Uribe went to a club for some drinks) and the way he handled Peru's match against Bolivia, which disturbed the whole world, not only the fans, leaders and journalists but principally the players themselves."

Peru's under-17 coach José Oré, who has qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2007, has requested that the World Cup Commission let the new coach work on getting the team to the World Cup and not question him.

The Commission has also announced that the next coach will earn the same amount of money that Uribe earned, $36 thousand a month.

Peruvian press speculates that the next coach could be José Guillermo "Chemo" del Solar, who is presently the coach for Católica University in Chile. or Carlos Oblitas, Sporting Cristal's current coach.

And who fires those members of that useless commission? Who kick the butt of those football managers who have done nothing but got national football worst? Those gang members named Burga, Mallqui, Aleman, among others are the responsibles for Peru’s defeats. They only care for earning good salaries and traveling abroad every month, stop this monkey business, please Burga, get the hell out of FPF.
