(LIP-ir) -- Peru's World Cup Commission President, Juvenal Silva has confirmed that José Guillermo del Solar, currently Chile's Católica University coach, has accepted the offer to take charge and be the next coach for Peru's National Soccer Selection as soon as he breaks ties with Católica University.
"We've settled small issues that were pending. Chances are that "Chemo" will speak to the President of Católica University to break ties and we will most likely be introducing him as Peru's National Selection coach tomorrow (Tuesday)," stated the Commission's president.
Silva stated that after this weekends negotiations with del Solar, he felt that chances were 90 percent sure that "Chemo" would be the next coach, therefore not making it necessary for him to have someone else in mind.
Upon his arrival to Chile today, Silva will get together with del Solar to work out the details of the contract and define his salary, " $36 thousand per month not a penny less or a penny more," stated Silva.
Despite the fact that Peru's club Universitario de Lima has shown interest in having del Solar as a coach, José Mallqui, member of Peru's World Cup Commission has stated that it is almost impossible for the deal to fall through, being that del Solar has already accepted what was presented to him and has also demonstrated willingness to take part in coaching Peru's National Team.
