I understand this project took its fair share of critacism for its cost and perhaps there is an arguement to be made for that but.................The human spirit relates favorable to light water and rythem because fountains do make a sort of music in themselves. In a place that screams for the gringo, I only want your money, camera and your valuables this leaves a rare good taste in the mouths of the outsiders. Las Vegas is a town that also screams the same message in a bit different way but all I remember of the place is the musical lighted computer driven fountain.............. For the Peruvian it is tangable proof that they can accomplish good things and once again be proud of something collectively........... That according to my research is something that defies a pricetag........... Perhaps one day even soon we will be able to use the term civil servant in reference to the mayor and the respect that brings will be just as priceless.......... Personally as I write these words tears flow down my face as I know I have written the truth........ And it will make a difference..........

I visited Peru last summer and I can say its nothing like its potrayed in the news or in the "Laura" show. It is a magnificent country with great food and a variety of geographical places. I believe it is one of the top places top study archaeology and it has still many plants in the amazons and beyond that need to be discovered. For example, now there is a peanut that is star shaped which was consumed by the Incas thousands of years ago. It is said to be the most potent protein and has the most omega 3 (52%) in the world. It was first discovered 500 years ago but was given little importance. It's been stolen now by the French and other Europeans which they use to eat and for health purposes. They tried to patent it themselves but fortunately there is a Peruvian farmer who stepped up and has fought them to keep it in Peru in order to give farming jobs to the local people. God Bless Peru!!! May it have a bright future!!Add your comment
