Controversial ALBA Offices Send Peru's Citizens to Venezuela & Bolivia

(LIP-ir) -- Peru's Premier has on several opportunities questioned the presence of ALBA offices in the country. ALBA, the Bolivarian Alternative for Latin America, was proposed by Venezuela as an alternative to the U.S. sponsored Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA).

Proceedings taking place in the "ALBA House" in Puno, continue to raise suspicion among politicians and government officials in Peru. Peru's International Cooperation Agency (APCI) went and inspected the office and found that it has been registered in Puno public records as a non-profit organization since March 28.

This particular ALBA House is in charge of sending patients in need of medical attention to Bolivian clinics. APCI has declared that the organization has not registered or reported its activity to regional offices in Puno, a requirement necessary if they are to send patients to another country for treatment.

The presence of these offices, despite the governments disapproval, have been approved and are supported by Puno's Regional President Hernan Fuentes.

105 of Peru's citizens in Loreto, left the country for Venezuela this week to receive medical attention. They departed as friends and family marched with Peruvian, Venezuelan and plain red flags. Banners with the picture of Hugo Chavez and terms allusive to communism where held by others.

Send them home now!! Peruvians don't need the threat of cummunism again, after those years of terrorism and crime. They are using poor people by giving them "medical treatments" and what they are doing in fact is washing their brains.

The government must take action right now and prohibite and close those Alba offices.  They have to act fast otherwise it will be too late.
This is a real and very serious threat for Peru, worse than Sendero.  Take action!!!!!!

ALBA puts the emphasis on the struggle against poverty and social exclusion and, therefore, it expresses the interests of the Latin American peoples.
