Collapsed Hospital in Pisco, Peru Helps Thousands

(LIP-ir) -- The hospital San Juan de Dios in Pisco, has helped approximately two thousand people since the earthquake that struck Peru on Wednesday August 15.

Despite the fact that parts of the hospital have collapsed, doctors and nurses continue to do their best.

After cleaning up rubble and debris and with the support of an electric generator, the hospital is now open 24 hours a day.

The hospital in Pisco has helped thousands of the earthquake victims, including four women that were in labor. One of the children born was Alan Julio Víctor, who weighed 3 kilos and 200 grams.

The baby boy was named after Peru's President, Alan Garcia and the two doctors that helped during his delivery, Julio Espinoza and Víctor Guevara.
