Celebrities Celebrate New Book 'Lima Peru' in New York Hotel

(LIP-ir) -- Mario Testino's new book, Lima Peru: Edited by Mario Testino, was celebrated in New York this week by some of the world's top celebrities.

Over one hundred and fifty celebrities attended the special event in honor of the famous Peruvian photographer.

Courtney Love, Sheryl Crow, Hana Soukupova, Demi Moore, Mischa Barton, Cecilia Dean, and Helena Christensen were just some of the people present at the Bowery Hotel supporting Testino.

The 224-page book gives readers Testino's perception and also provides them with an opportunity to view Peru's capital through his eyes.

The new tome, edited in Spanish, English and French, is the work of over 100 artists, journalists, photographers and Peruvian painters.

The book was published after the author explored every detail of Lima's streets. It has been explained that the book gives an image of Lima that is different to how most tourists see Peru's capital.

"I wanted to capture Lima's positive chaos...its interior and live streets but since there isn't a book that reflects this, I had to write one," stated Testino with respect to his decision about publishing Lima Peru.

PromPeru was present at the event and provided all the celebrities with the finest Peruvian dishes while Macchupisco provided the cocktails. Music from Peru was played and the famous Marinera was danced for the guests at the New York hotel.

It was reported that in the near future, Testino is to present his book in Madrid and then come to the city that inspired it all - Lima, Peru.
