(LIP-ir) -- After the 1 -1 draw to Brazil at home on Sunday, Peru's national soccer selection coach, Jose del Solar stated the tie had not been enough, the team should have won and that they were now obligated to beat Ecuador in their match in Quito tomorrow.
Peru striker Paolo Guerrero was unable to take part in the second half of the Brazil game and has been ruled out of tomorrows World Cup qualifier, against Ecuador. After having undergone a medical evaluation, it was established that Guerrero cannot play, announced Peru's soccer federation director, Jose Mallqui.
José Fernández, a star for the Cusco-based club Cienciano, has been called to replace Paolo Guerrero along with several other teammates that are used to playing in Cusco's high altitudes.
Peru's Del Solar has been separately training with four of Cienciano's players in Cusco to prepare them for the match in Quito, which is to be held at 2,800 meters (9,186 feet) above sea level.
The team that is to go up against Ecuador in the fourth World Cup qualifier for Peru will be completely different than the team that went up against Brazil in Sunday's game.
With Paolo Guerrero out because of symptoms of exhaustion, fatigue and early stages of gastritis and the suspension of Nolberto Solano, Juan Vargas and Paolo de la Haza, Peru is to face off against Ecuador with a fresh new squad.
