LivinginPeru.com proudly presents "101 Reasons to be Proud of Peru"

(LIP-ir) -- Peru is a country we all know and love - rich in its culture and diverse in hundreds of ways.

Several months ago we challenged you, our readers, to give us the reasons why you are proud of this spectacular country. You enthusiastically sent us over 800 e-mails.

The Living in Peru staff read everything from the most patriotic to the most interesting and funniest responses. Since then we have been working on making a list of the top 101 Reasons to be Proud of Peru.

It definitely has not been easy but after considering all of your wonderful suggestions, we are ready to release the "101 Reasons to be Proud of Peru".

Our list includes everything from the country's divine gastronomy to Peru's most important personalities.

Ceviche, Pisco Sour and Machu Picchu are only the tip of the iceberg.

Even though we were not able to include all of your suggestions, we are sure you will find the 50-page booklet you helped us put together interesting, enjoyable and very informative.

The next time someone asks you what you love about Peru or why you are proud of this country... you'll have 101 reasons on hand.

Click on the image above or here to download your free copy of "101 Reason to be Proud of Peru" to share with friends and family.

Enjoy!

This is disgusting. Nationalism is a thing of the past. It has been the cause of racism, imperialism, wars and a host of other evils. Human beings should be proud to be members of the planet Earth. No nation is any better or worse than any other... all people are the same.

"101 Reasons To Be Proud of Peru" is a great publication.

A slight correction to "Huayllay's Bosque de Piedra". The erosion that has resulted in the "bosque" began in the Tertiary or Cenozoic about
2 m.y. B.P. [million years before present]. Unless you want to state that the erosion that has produced the "bosque" has been ongoing throughout the Tertiary which began 65 m.y. B.P.
70 m.y. B.P. is near the top of the Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic Era.

This is good stuff. Do I have to give people the form link, or can I send the PDF to my friends?

Thanks!  Very nice job puting this together. I really appreaciate that so many places in the world still retain some uniquness. I would sure hate to see the whole planet become one big suburb of the United States.  Each nation needs to protect its traditions while respecting those of others.

While we are moving toward "globalization" Nationalism is certainly not a thing of the past. While I agree with you that we should all be equally proud of who and what we are some of us take more pride in ourselves and surroundings then others.

Why else are some houses kept neat and clean and others are in shambles? It is not always about money. And not all people are the same, I'm sure you and I don't agree on certain topics. That my friend makes us different, and part of the reason that the world is such in interesting place to live.

Great job!! There are many places to visit and many interesting traditions here in Peru. That is what makes this country "unique" the variety and richness of nature and culture.

Thank you a lot to the team of LIP, I hope thousands of people will read it!

"Disgusted":  I don't know where you're from.....but obviously you have a certain amount of envy for Peruvians, like myself, who are so proud of our country because it's so beautiful, it has so many important treasures (Peru is one of the cradles of civilization) and the people are so humane and hospitable, etc. etc.etc.  Peruvians are also interested in being "global"....don't kid yourself.....we're not blind to the rest of the world, but we're aware that we have a unique country.  So just accept this fact and don't be so negative.

I was very disappointed ...originally you had asked for new reasons other than the same usual reasons ( Inca Kola, Machu Picchu, ceviche, marinera etc..etc..etc..)...although these are 101 worthy reasons to be proud of, I though you would publish a more updated list!.....Thanks anyway!

collect all their email addresses, what company would say NO to free
publicity?  Come on! please use your brain, it scares me to think their

I like Living in Peru. If they asked me not to distribute the file, I wouldn't. It has nothing to do with being a robot, or using my brain.
Are you the Anti-Christian (Cool) stalker, or another troll?

Dear All Thank you all for your positive feedback that we received by e-mail and as comments here in this blog this past weekend. It’s been fantastic to see how much appreciation this publication has received and how many already downloaded it. You are welcome to forward this publication “101 Reasons to be Proud of Peru” directly to your friends and family, but it is both easier and faster to forward the link where people can sign up and download it from - that way, we will also have an idea where in the world people are enjoying these “101 Reasons to be Proud of Peru”. Yours Sincerely The LivinginPeru.com Team

101 Reasons....  appeasrs to be one of the best of the many attempts to promote Peru that I have seen.

It may not be as perfect as some pessimists expect, but unless they correct or suggest corrections, they are only expressing their frustrations.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to  its creation.

I have printed a dozen copies to give away as Christmas presents .

Thank you,

Fred
