In a near future, Venezuela could begin to interfere with Peru's government the way it is interfering with Bolivia's, said Luis Vasquez Villamor and Carlos Böhrt, two Bolivian senators.# Palomudo says :

This sounds good to me, that means that Humala or someone who cares for Peru will become president in the near future.
Also means that Peru will eliminate illiteracy like Chavez did in Venezuela and Evo is doing in Bolivia, also means that Peruvians will have free healthcare and free education all the way through University.
The bad side for the rich and oligarcs is that the people will wake up and put a stop to the looting of Peris natural resources.
Peru will recover its' natural resources and they will benefit the people instead of the transnationals and corrupted politicans.
This is what the Bolivian oligarcs are crying about, they serve US and capitalitic interest and do not care about the poor.
Great news!

Holy ____! It's the 21st century, I can't believe that fools like Palomundo are still duped by power mongers and commie regimes. Hasn't history taught him anything?
"...transnationals and corrupted politicans...", "...serve US and capitalitic interest...", "...do not care about the poor"...
What? surpressing the masses and killing any of the them that talk back is the answer?

Fred, Palomudo is another misguided soul, that hasn't read history. Venezuela is losing the Creme de Creme of their society. They are fleeing the country. Yes, they are mostly the rich and like in Cuba they will leave taking their expertise and Dollars to where the U.S.. Cuba has free health care and education, but it is of poor quality. What new inventions have been developed in Cuba since Castro took the reins of power. I can only think of several inventions.Like a 59 Chevy the people made into a boat to flee Cuba. Yes , My Friend people will find a way out of any Prison even Cuba. Peru doesn't need free health care of that quality or education systems that stifle the imagination or continue to promise better things to come. Look at Cuba, they are now trying to spur the economy by giving land back to the people to produce food, because the collectives have failed miserably. My friend Palomudo please read history not Marx or Lenin and you will see the Truth. Watch out Peru!
Most Europeans think Chavez is very dangerous for Latin America. His Socialist government took control of telecomms and electricity companies last year along with Venezuela's last remaining privately run oil projects.
Last week, he announced plans to nationalize the major cement companies. And this week it was the largest steel makers' turn.
Where I live, the government is doing the opposite - selling state-owned companies. It will be a great success. We all know that.
Muchos saludos from Sweden

Hi everyone.
I'm not afraid of Chávez. He's just a clown. We should be closer with Chile and Colombia. That would be helpful in order to the fight the so called (here) "red-ism".
The people who has no brain shouldn't govern.

Baby Huey has the best ideas, that is why us dummy red shirt types voted for him in the first place. We want every thing for free, so we don't have to work for a living and make Venezuela as prosperous as Peru has been with billions being poured into Peru's economy over the past years by out side investors. We also think that as communists, that it is a wonderful idea to nationalize even more property to encourge even more out side investments. So Remember Comrades, if you want to turn your country upside down, support communism today so the powers to be, like Rubber Face Ollanta, can sit back and enjoy the fruits of capitalism like Fidel, Baby Huey, Evo, & Ortega have.

"Ok Comrade Ollanta it has been a pleasure disscussing with you on how best our plans will undermine the country of Peru in the next elections. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to take Evo to the back room so we can endulge ourselves once again. We were just waiting for the delivery of our extra slippery petroleum jelly to arrive. You see the big smile on his face? You can tell that he is really looking forwards to having fun once again, before I fly over to Havana to eat oysters on the half shell with Comrade Fidel."

Stephan is right people. Europe has been shattered by wars started by insignificant men everyone thought were clowns. Ah Hitler comes to mind. He also had what was his fifth column , which were subversive groups placed in countries to do his bidding. Does the Alba house come to mind. Never underestimate what looks like and acts like a fool, or we may all become the fools.

I hope the gov't of Peru is taking this seriously. Chavez is a terrorist and allowing him to spread his violent beliefs will only lead to more suffering in Peru.

According to a report from the united nations, Peru proced 28% of the world cocaine in 2006, by now with Garcia sucking Bush, the coca production must be over 30%, no wonder these guys above are so brain dead.
Alvaro Uribe or Doctor Varito as Pablo Escobar used to call him is the main drug lord in SA, he is #82 in the US drug dealers and soon Garcia will be in that list also, no wonder why Peru has become best buddies with the US.
As for all that money being invested in Peru, It doesn't mean prosperity for all but, it is for just a minority who will continue to reap you off, we will see the standard of living of your people in a few years.

Palomudo, You again disappoint me with your remarks against President Garcia. He is not the second coming of Christ ,but given the circumstances , I believe he has done a better job than any other leader in South or Central America. There will always be people that will be poor or hungry, this is the real world not the Garden of Eden. You should blame the plight of man on Adam and Eve. They were the ones that succumbed to the treachery of the Devil and placed us all in this cruel world.
# Fred says :

Also Palomundo, trickle down economics take time, a simple fact. Just because the poor aren't made rich by foreign investment overnight, it doesn't make sense to eliminate that investment, enslave industry, and make everyone equally poor and miserable. Whats the point?
# Rene says :
11 April, 2008 [ 08:03 ]
I agree with Fred that it takes time for the foreign investments to trickle down and that the Chavez-way is not the way to go. Unfortunately the reality in Peru is that along the way there are some very deep pockets that prevent the money from ever getting to the bottom. What Garcia should do besides welcoming all the foreign investments is seriously fight corruption and establish programs that will directly benefit the poor and are funded from all the extra tax revenue Peru is generating. If he does not do that, then I'm afraid that the democracy in Peru will see some rough times again, simply because hungry people will follow whoever promises them a better future, rational or not. And with a poverty rate of 54% I think they will easily get the majority in the next elections.

There are some interesting comments here but if they were asserted against Norway, nobody would believe them. Chavez uses Norway as it's model for governance. Do your homework folks rather than listening to CNN and FOX.

Hola Grindia, These friends may watch TV , but you need to read a history book. Of course Hugo Chavez wants to emulate Norway. Norway has a King. King Olaf. Huh ,bet you didn't know that.Add your commentHugo wants to be crowned King of America del Sur. He will probably be known as Hugo the not so Humble or Hugo the Horrible. Yes he has aspirations to be bigger than the King of Spain or Norway. Well I have to go and watch my favorite channel Fox News. Chau.
