Peru: Photo of the day - China invests $2 billion in Junin

Peru's President Alan Garcia was present today at the signing ceremony in which Peru Copper exercised its option to invest in the Toromocho mining project, which is located to the east of Lima in the mountainous region of Junin. The $2 billion investment will be financed by the China Development Bank and the Aluminum Corporation of China - Chinalco. It was reported that the Toromocho mining project could increase Peru's copper output 25 percent. Garcia affirmed that the project would also create at least 5,000 jobs.

That's another sign why USA recession won t affect our economy. China has becoming the engine of the world.
