The National Police's special tactics unit or SUAT (Subunidad de Acciones Tácticas) has opened an office at Jorge Chavez International Airport to provide the EU-LAC delegates that are to arrive to the Andean country with the utmost security. The SUAT team is trained in handling hostage, terrorist and other emergency situations. Colonel Carlos Bamonde Ganduillia, the head of airport security in Peru, affirmed that for an airport to be level A-1, it must have a unit that can respond to these emergency situations. Jorge Chavez is now listed as an A-1 airport.

After seeing to many "Airport" films I am sure we can handle difficult situations as the one´s reported. We need to be a top level airport, so most visitors feel secure and well treated upon arrival or departure.. Cheers.Add your comment
