There are currently 612 investment projects or opportunities in the country's 24 regions with a total value of nearly $ 40 billion dollars, announced today the executive director of the Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión), David Lemor.
"Regions have become the center of national efforts to fight poverty and combine production development with infrastructure," he said during the presentation of the First International Forum on Investment in Peru Regions 2008.
He explained that ProInversión, in coordination with regional governments and with the support of chambers of commerce and major universities in each region, drew up plans to promote investments all over the country.
"This process is unique and we want to consolidate it, we also hope to continue expanding the number of projects in the coming weeks," said Lemor.
