Thank you Peru and all other countries for endorsing communism. Never mind about the radical Tibetian extremists and the other lies that everyone hears in regards to the people of Dufur in Sudan as well. Father Mao Zedong would be a very proud man indeed. Long Live Communism!

Well Comrade, you forgot to tell the folks why your country has placed a ban on olympic gold medalist Joey Cheek from entering your country? Oh thats right. He leads a very out spoken group that has criticized China's involvement with the country of Sudan and all the people that are victims of mass genocide in the Darfur region.

Dear comrades and capitalists, etc.
Politics is important, your opinions are important too. But...come on...
How many hours a week do you exercise? Which one of you is an accompished, hard-working, disciplined athlete? Do you have endurance? Flexibility? Can you sprint? Can you swim well?
Do any of you have challenges for your body and soul? If you do, then please let the world see it, let the world enjoy it, let the world learn from it. Athletes have a lot to show us. I am humbled by their discipline, dedication, sacrifice of their spirits. They go beyond what an ordinary human being does. They are examples for all of us.
Go, go, go, athletes of the world! It does not matter if it is Athens, Beijing or Atlanta. The world is ready to marvel with their talent.

All of them except for one actually train in Peru and have paid their own way to the Olympics.

Peru should model its sports system after Mexico or Spain.

The IDP is corrupt and needs to be reformed.

Congratulations to Peru for joining the world to compete in the 2008 Olympics!!!

I agree with the comment from RICE AND SUGAR. Let's stop focusing on the negative and see the positive of what these great athletes will give to the world.

ONE WORLD. ONE DREAM.

lets hope that since these late generations couldnt realize this, my generation and the younger ones will.

Congratulations to the Peruvian Team! I hope for Peruvian gold in this Olympics! Best wishes and thank you for your hard work! Coming from a sports family, I know how difficult it is in Peru to follow your sport when you don't have the financial resources. Go for it Peruanos!

VAMOS PERU!!!

As an American expat and lifelong fan of the Olympic Games, I am proud to cheer for the athletes of my newly adopted country.

Even though Peru's Olympic delegation is one of the smallest at the Games, we ought to support with Peru athletes with all of the spirit we've got.

Go, Peru, go!

See my blog comments on Peru at the Olympics at http://americaninlima.com/2008/08/10/the-big-olympics-little-peru/

Those of us who care about addressing the irregularities of the IDP should continue this focus after the Games. I do think we owe it to The Lucky Thirteen to support them now, when they need it. :)

Communism?  What kind of fool is going to promote this?  Think of the lack of enthusiasm you allow to promulgate by endorsing or using this form of government/society.  Peruvians strive for all they earn not like many in other countries that practice communism.

# Buzz says :

Ya Rafael... here in the US sports are not equal to politics and I don't believe they go hand in hand.  Sports are sports though politics may become involved as they do in almost any form of human acitivity.  To say politics is part of sports is to devalue the spirit of the Olympics and sports in general. Mis Cholitos aqui (tienen 2 y cuatro anos) are going to play sports ... is that politcal at their age?  Or does it need to be a part of sports at any age to the degree that ones politics ruin the sport? the playing of sports?  I don't believe that do you?
