Seven flights that had to leave Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport in Cusco had to be suspended because of fog and constant drizzle, reported on Thursday afternoon personnel from Peru's national airport and civil aviation authority (CORPAC).

LAN Peru made the seven cancellations and reported that its passengers would be placed on flights leaving Cusco on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

Passengers flying on flights 015, 017, 025, 123, 075, 115 and 019 have been rescheduled.

Other airlines such as Star Peru and Taca resumed their flight schedules after the weather cleared at 10 a.m.

According to weather reports, drizzle and fog began Wednesday evening and continued until Thursday morning.

Lan Peru is the worst at doing things like this. Notice the other airlines repsected their passengers enough to better accommodate them.

It is time to start warning all tourists to NOT use LAN.

Perhaps LAN was more careful and prefered not to fly in bad weather.

A little fog and flights need to be rescheduled?Undecided Is this because of lack of technology at the airport or ancient airplanes of LAN? I am in Cusco right now and yesterday I was able to see the surrounding mountains from the plaza de armas at 8:30 am. I have seen much worse fog around some larger airports and flights were nothing more than delayed. This I find incredible....

It sucks missing your flights or being delayed with LAN.  But all other major carriers who have operated in Peru as long as LAN have had major air disasters causing many deaths.  LAN is the only one that has been able to keep the planes moving and the death toll down.

Taca is too new in Peru to really know yet.

Star has a fleet less than half the size of LAN and runs many fewer flights than LAN.  Though it has been operating since '98 as well.

Not every thing is great about LAN, but it still remains the best airline company in Peru for safely and quality.

Another issue here may be the inadequecies of the radar and weather equipment in Cusco.  It is well known that Peruvian airspace is not well monitored by radar and other means (worse than Brazil which had a major crash recently caused by lack of radar coverage).
