Peru's top tennis player Luis Horna and his Uruguayan doubles partner Pablo Cuevas advanced into the first round of the US Open doubles tournament after defeating Argentineans José Acasuso and Sebastián Prieto 6-4 and 6-2.
Horna and Cuevas, who lost their first round matches in the singles tournament, aim to win the US Open doubles title to qualify for the Masters Series tournament in Shangai.
The Roland Garros doubles champions are now waiting for the winners of the match between Rick De Voest - Ashley Fisher and Chris Haggard - Stephen Huss.
