As part of the Peruvian government’s initiative to promote job creation and economic growth, Production Minister Rafael Rey said he will present Peru’s investment potential to the director-general of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Wang Living.
"China is the Asian giant, one of the strongest and richest countries in the world. We are interested in attracting large sums of capital investment into the country because this contributes to export and generates much employment for Peruvians," he told Andina.
Rafael Rey will meet the Chinese official in the framework of the 15th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting which ends today in the northern city of Chiclayo (Lambayeque).
The Peruvian minister noted it was important to bring more foreign investment in the country because the State will achieve growth in tax collection which will serve to implement more public works projects.
Minister Rey chairs the 15th APEC Small- and Medium-Enterprises Ministerial Meeting in which delegates from 21 member economies discuss about the SMEs challenges and achievements in the Asia-Pacific Region.
