As Johnnie Walker's worldwide ambassador, two-time Formula 1 champion Mika Pauli Häkkinen came to Peru for the first time last week.

The Finnish racing driver, Michael Schumacher's greatest rival in F1 from 1998-2000, came to the Andean country to promote the Johnnie Walker Pact, an agreement being signed around the world not to drive drunk.

"The Flying Finn" was in Lima on Saturday afternoon for the official signing of the pact, which was held at the Huaca Pucllana with a spectacular party and a special demonstration with a Mercedes E-class.

Häkkinen taught a few special guests how to drive the brand new luxury vehicle thinking like a Formula 1 driver.

Even though it has been 10 years since Mika won his first Formula 1 championship, he was received by guests and media as if he had taken the title yesterday.

Livinginperu.com had a few minutes with Mika and discovered he was thoroughly enjoying his stay. When asked what he liked most about the country, the Finnish star affirmed it was the delicious food.

He assured he wanted to return to explore more of Peru, stating he would be back as early as next year.

So that Häkkinen would remember his experience in the Andean country, our Editor in Chief Carsten Korch made sure to give him a copy of "101 Reasons to be Proud of Peru", which Mika said he would share with family and friends after his Latin American tour.

If you are also interested in knowing more about Peru, we invite you to download your own copy from this website or read it right here.
