Consultant Agency Maximixe estimated that direct foreign investment (DFI) in Peru would reach the 12,500 million $ mark in 2009 and the 17,500 million $ mark during 2010. This calculation was done considering the positive nature of the past APEC Summit meetings.
If it had not been for the meeting Peru would have probably seen foreign investment rise to 10,150 million $ in 2009 and 12,700 million in 2010.
Maximixe President, Jorge Chávez said that the accomplishments achieved by Peru as host country of the APEC are great but the most outstanding achievement is its position as investment receptor because of the DFI which will roll in over the next couple of years.
“An exact projection of the impact said position will have is difficult to calculate taking into account only the fragmented information brought forth by every foreign entrepreneur upon his or her arrival to Peru. However it is easy to do a simple simulation exercise”, he explained regarding Maximixe’s projections.
He also said that in any case what is needed is a dynamic policy which would facilitate foreign investment starting with a Public-Private Law Association rule book. These regulations would go hand in hand with the free trade policy announced by President Garcia.

Add your commentthis are good news- It would be just fine if Peruvian governement under agp with such an amount fresh cash gives a great push to:
1. let all this little private investors in very uncomplicated way into Peru and allowe easy to get residency from Peru like in other latin american countries it is already very common by saying no to burocracy and silly long waiting times and punish those who make things longer than they should be with nice funky new laws of behaviour in public office or engagement.
2. and much more finer it would be if agp makes a hard push for all this busy fresh cash people that they get easy licences to establish little business (respecting Peruvian laws and most wellcome no contaminaters) in time limits- most nice it would be if agp handles it just like in some Northern countries- were newcomers get licences from one day to the other- less byrocracy and paperwork- more money and work for Peruvians here and our Peruvians abroad who surely want to come home one day.
