Former FARC hostage Ingrid Betancourt to visit Peru on Thursday

After the highly publicized rescue of Colombian ex-presidential candidate, Ingrid Betancourt, from Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Betancourt has been actively seeking solutions to save her fellow comrades who are still held against their will by FARC rebels.
According to Colombian ambassador to Peru, Alvaro Pava, Betancourt is scheduled to meet President Alan Garcia Perez during her visit but has not set a clear agenda for her meeting with the president. Betancourt is beginning her South American tour to thank those who have helped aid in the rescue of her and her comrades while taken hostage by FARC rebels.
According to Andina news agency, Betancourt, who is currently living in France after being rescued last July 2, started her Latin American tour on Monday in Ecuador, where she met with president Rafael Correa, who offered continue efforts for releasing FARC's hostages.
Today, she is expected to meet Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and Chilean President Michelle Bachelet the following day before making her way to Peru on Thursday.
