Former Colombian hostage Ingrid Betancourt at her arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima this morning.



Colombia’s Ingrid Betancourt is on a seven-country tour to thank Latin America leaders for their efforts to secure her release. Her tour includes meetings with leaders of Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Venezuela.

She has publicly stated she is not interested in any political office.  But politicians do have a way of changing their positions.

She's a very thoughtful, loving person who maintained her integrity throughout her horrific ordeal.  I hope  that, now, free, she will continue to inspire and work tirelessly to promote the intersts  of her people and fight againt the heartless terrorists that caused her so much misfortune

well many before said "no" and than later on change into a "yes"- Ingrid surely with time might become something like  a woman version from Gandhi- surely she made already history by went through  all this terrible time - and yet she remained still not to be full of hate agaist those who punished her so long, still she kept her fair judgment as a person - this either sooner or later makes her a hell of an option- Besides- in Colombia in the future it might be very nessesary to have someone in between in charge-I hope her "No" is not a final decision.

Can someone tell me if she has fully recovered from her ordeal? Her fingers look very thin and looking at the photo you can see her clavicle or collar bone. She looks undernourished.

Or has she always been thin?

David- years of jungle, stomac parasites, all this infections.
the half of the interstinum must be already wiped off and with bichos- in the tv today she loocked rather swolen than with more weight- the lady is not healthy jet- and also the thing with her husband (marrige broken, ans so on so on- )
