Headed by Eleonora Pardo, a committee belonging to the Andean Development Corporation (Corporacion Andina de Fomento - CAF) went to the Limean district of Villa El Salvador to inspect the electric train.
CAF representatives boarded the electric train at the station in Villa El Salvador and traveled in one of its carriages to its final stop at the Puente Atocongo station.
After inspecting the train and its station, the representatives and the head of the Andean Development Corporation met with Peru's Minister of Transportation, Enrique Cornejo.
It was reported they evaluated the next steps to be taken in the development of the train, which was begun during Alan Garcia's first administration and has not been completed yet.
On March 10 2009, Garcia's administration issued an urgent decree stating the completion of this project had to be given the utmost priority.
$350 million have been approved to finish building the train from Puente Atocongo to Grau Avenue in downtown Lima.
