Winter started oficially in Peru today at 00:45am, according to Peru's National Meteorologic Service (Senamhi).

The arrival of winter will bring drizzle and mist to Lima, and to some other cities in the country. The minimum temperature expected for Lima is 12°C (53.6°F).

The temperatures in the districts far from the sea will oscilate between 12 and 14°C (53.6 and 57.2°F), and in the ones closer to the coastline will be between 14° and 16°C (57.2°F and 60°F).

In spite that this winter is not expected to be as cold as the past ones, the Southern Andean highlands will have freezing temperatures.

Ah yes, winter in Lima. Too funny to watch the people down here running around in their scarves, sweaters, overcoats and gloves when it's 60 degrees.
