Peru Rail has issued a statement informing that its Cusco-MachuPicchu services scheduled for Wednesday will be suspended, due to the strike that Cusco will observe.

Peru Rail also says that the tickets will be rescheduling will be arranged --whenever possible-- for the next days without any penalties, in coordination with travel agencies and tourism operators.

The passengers that for any reason can't reschedule their tickets will have their money reimbursed.

In addition, Peru Rail has scheduled some extra services today (Tuesday) to transport all passengers who need to come back from Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town), since tomorrow there won't be any service.

We are very sorry for the inconveniences," says Peru Rail statement.

The #1 promoted event in the Cusco Peru tourist Year is the Sun Festaval inti raymi on Today June 24th,,, all the thousands of happy tourists are in sexywoman watching the magnifacant show.   tommorow the 25th is the day thay all want to go on train to Machu Picchu ...  a Peak day ...  a big Money Day..   the 100s of peruvuans in the tourst food chain making their big harvest $$$ of the year...
25th is indefinte strike of the irrigantes in the valley that the train must pass to get to Machu Picchu ,, indefinite means  untill the beer runs out ..
the strike will prevent on an average 1500 to 2000 tourist from visiting Machu Picchu  tourists that had paid in full months ago, have to go home to tell this story about Peru to everyone they know, who will in turn tell all they know, reaching the ears of thousands   the message  of   dont go to peru .
If the Peruvian goverment did care one drop about tourism  would this happen?
This is very sad,, for all the many profesional Peruvians in the Tour and Hotel industry that work hard to Promote and sell Peru.  Sad  for their familys, their children, even sad for their dogs,, whom will all be adversly effected by lack of income n loss of jobs due to this years  events.

thank you living in peru for posting this news items where it is difficult to find in other peruvian press
toruists coming to Peru,, well think of this as an adventure that you will not get at disney world.
