Three soldiers were injured yesterday while fighting against a group of drug traffickers and terrorists, according to Rafael Rey, Peru's Defense Minister.

The clash took place near Sinaicocha, in Santo Domingo de Acobamba (Huancavelica region).

The injured soldiers, one Seargent and two Corporals, will be sent to a hospital as soon as possible, because bad weather has prevented flights up to now.

Rey told RadioProgramas del Peru (RPP) that the injured soldiers are Seargent Pablo César Castillo and Corporals Pablo Benito Sucaray and Paucar Sunamal.

He said that they are not in danger now, and explained that these incidents happen because “the military units patrol and search for the terrorists, following indications from intelligence reports.”

A great now we have our own little afghanistan in Peru.

At least it will serve us well for being combat ready. Once we get our act together and start actually fighting.

The sooner the better though we dont want another Colombia.
