The world’s largest tamal was prepared on Friday, by residents of the town of San Luis de Shauro, in Chanchamayo.

The record breaking tamal measured 3 x 1.5 meters, and weighed 200 kilos, El Comercio reported.

The dish was prepared on the occasion of the 126th anniversary of the founding of the town, and in honor of San Luis Gonzaga.

The tamal was then paraded around the town square, and then served to local residents, El Comercio said.
