Last Wednesday, Peru’s minister of Energy and Mines, Francisco Ísmodes participated in the V Binational Cabinet Peru Colombia held in Pucallpa where the Presidents of these countries met.
In this meeting, an agreement was signed for achieving the viability and sustainability of an electrical interconnection project, according to information from BN Americas.
“Ísmodes Mezzano held a working meeting with the Colombian Vice Minister of Energy, Diego Mesa, which highlighted the progress in sustaining the electrical interconnection project between the towns of Puerto Leguízamo (Putumayo, Colombia) and Soplin Vargas (San Martín, Peru), which will allow service to rural communities located in the border areas of both nations”, the aforementioned website published last week.
In addition, Ísmodes and Mesa agreed to exchange experiences in the development of policies for hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation.
“They also agreed to develop information workshops on the management of transportation, distribution and marketing of natural gas, liquid fuels and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)”, BN Americas continued.
Among the experiences related to energy that the countries agreed to share are technical assistance in non-conventional renewable energy sources, energy sustainability, efficient mobility and comprehensive energy planning.
