The Special Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court ratified unanimously on February 13 the annulment of the humanitarian pardon that Pedro Pablo Kuczynski granted Alberto Fujimori on December 24, 2017.
“Fujimori will continue serving his 25-year prison sentence for the Barrios Altos and La Cantuta cases in the Barbadillo prison”, El Comercio informed.
The ex-President re-entered the aforementioned prison on January 23 after being released from the Centennial clinic, where he had been hospitalized since October 3, 2018.
The Criminal Chamber recognized that Fujimori is sick but that this medical condition, which was used by the defense to justify his pardon “is not relevant” since it was considered that he can continue his outpatient medical treatment in a penitentiary center.
