According to a recent survey, 7 out of 10 inhabitants in Lima saw the opening ceremony of the 2019 Pan American Games and most of them believe that the sporting event met the expectations of an international show.
This survey was done by Ipsos Perú and it measured what people thought of the inauguration of the games at the National Stadium on July 26, according to Andina News Agency.
“The survey reflects that 94% of Lima’s inhabitants are satisfied with the organization of the sports competition, considered the most important multidisciplinary event in the Americas”, the aforementioned news agency said.
Also, 86% believe that the show reflected the best of traditional and modern Peru. While 87% think that a similar show has never been seen before in the capital.
Milco, the event’s mascot, has also received good reactions. 47% of respondents really like the mascot and image of Lima 2019, inspired by the cuchimilcos of the pre-Columbian culture Chancay.
