Today, a series of festivities begin in Lima to celebrate the religious wedding.
In 2005, Prince Christian of Hannover and Peruvian lawyer and ex-model Alessandra de Osma met in the Inca country. The reason: The German prince needed someone to show him around Lima, and Alessandra turned out to be that person.
They began dating in 2014 and had their civil wedding on November 24 in London, last year. Today a series of festivities for the religious ceremony begins in Lima, which will last three days.
Tonight a cocktail party will take place at a restaurant and tomorrow, Friday 16, the wedding will occur in the San Pedro Basilica, at noon.
The bride will be leaving from the Palacio de Goyeneche and it is likely that several streets will remain closed while she moves around the city for the ceremony.
After the religious act there will be a lunch in the Club Nacional and then a cocktail in the Casa Berckemeyer.
Finally, on Saturday 17, the newlyweds and their guests will be enjoying the “official party” in the Museo Pedro de Osma which will include traditional Peruvian cuisine, as well as an allusive decoration to the Peruvian culture.
Christian of Hannover is the second son of Ernest of Hannover, ex-husband of Caroline of Monaco.
