The Internet sales campaign Cyber Monday, scheduled for today and tomorrow, will generate sales of approximately 70 million soles, which will mean an increase of 15% compared to the results of last year, projected the e-commerce manager of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima (CCL), Jaime Montenegro.
“The greater acceptance of electronic commercial operations makes us foresee that this campaign will be a success,” he said, according to El Peruano.
Montenegro also explained that in Peru there are more than five million people who make electronic purchases, of which half are in the regions and the remaining 50% in the capital.
He also mentioned that between 80% and 85% of Peruvian customers buy on national websites, while between 15% and 20% do so in foreign sites.
According to information from El Peruano, the most sales take place in the travel, technological, household and fashion sectors.
