Brazil will become this season one of the destinations for Chinese garlic cultivated in Arequipa, Peru.
The commercial agreement, according to information from Fresh Plaza, is to purchase 150 tons of garlic per month and it was made during the visit of the Brazilian commercial technical delegation to Arequipa’s production region.
“They signed a commitment to buy six containers per month during the 4 to 5 months that the garlic campaign in the Valley of Tambo lasts”, Fresh Plaza informed.
This garlic season will last from August to December and it is expected that the producers will make a great profit from these transactions.
So far, Brazil’s main garlic suppliers are China and Argentina, but Tambo in Arequipa will be a great competition because it is closer to the South American country.
