Earthquake rumbles Nazca Monday evening


Did you feel the earthquake?

Early Monday evening, at 5:56PM, yet another earthquake struck Peru.

According to the Geophysical Institute of Peru, the epicenter was 18 kilometers north of San Juan de Marcona, capital of the Marcona district. This district is located in the Nazca province which resides along the southern coast of Peru.

The earthquake registered a 5.8 on the Richter scale. The depth is measured to be 60 kilometers.

No reports of injury or damage have been made at this time.Although the epicenter was in the capital of a Nazca district, residents of Lima were able to feel the earthquake as well.
