Facebook: Dutch tourist Cornelis was robbed and needs help


The Facebook page of a photographer posted pictures and the story of a man robbed and in need of funding in order to maintain himself for the rest of the duration of his trip in Lima.

On June 5, the Facebook page RS posted photos of Cornelis of Holland sitting on a bench in Lince with the few belongings that remain with him since a taxi driver in Lima robbed him. He is looking to sell all his remaining items in order to maintain himself until he flies back home on June 23.

The few items Cornelis was left with and which he is trying to sell include a chain necklace, a button-up shirt, two notebooks and a cell phone.

According to the Facebook post, he is also offering English classes to raise money. He speaks 7 languages and hopes to raise money for food and shelter by teaching during the rest of his trip in Lima.

Just last week the Crime Observatory of the Public Ministry released a report that more than 250 robberies occur daily in the Peruvian capital.
