Currently, 13 hotel construction projects are being carried out in Peru, which involves an investment of $292,735,694 US dollars.
According to Rogers Valencia, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), these investments will increase the number of rooms on a national scale by 2,325, which shortens the hotel infrastructure gap.
“Without infrastructure, we cannot provide quality services, which is essential to serve the traveler and thereby make receptive tourism grow. Therefore, we need more hotels, more food, beverages and transport,” he said to El Peruano.
The minister explained that the projects under execution are: Hotel Aloft Reducto; Hotel Aloft Malecón; Hotel Hilton Bajada Balta; Hotel Palmeras; Hotel IHI San Isidro; Holiday Inn Express San Isidro Lima Hotel; Hotel Atton Miraflores; Hotel MMG Miraflores; Hotel Dazzler Prado; Hotel Project Vistamar; Hotel Luxe Miraflores; Hotel IVH Miraflores; and Hotel Boutique IHC.
On the other hand, Valencia said that between 2010 and June 2018 five hotel projects have been built for a total of $167 million 154,600 US dollars, which has contributed to 1,056 rooms to the hotel capacity.
These projects take place also with the objective of improving the tourist infrastructure in various regions of Peru.
