India and Peru sign water agreement post-conference


The end of August event, Latin American Mine Water Conference, attended by Peruvian and Indian delegates, proved to be a success. Confirmed in a report by Business Standard, India´s Kirloskar Brothers and the National Water Authority of Peru (ANA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The document will aid in water management during Peru-based mining activities in which the two power players are involved.

Kirloskar Brothers (KB), host of the aforementioned annual mining event are an Indian-based company that manufactures centrifugal pumps and valves. The largest manufacturer in India, KB is also a global fluid management solutions provider.

The MoU states that both India and Peru “would share information as well as experience to implement of best practices in management of water resources in Peru,” according to a release from KB.

The MoU with ANA marks a new beginning in the India-Peru relationship. The world is keenly following Latin America’s mining companies and their performances,” KB Executive Director Jayant Sapre said.
The memorandum is meant to manage Peru´s water resources.
