0

On Thursday Miraflores finalized a contract for plans that aim to significantly reduce traffic in some of the district’s main roads.

The district announced it had signed a contract with Concesión Estacionamientos Miraflores S.A, who will be in charge of building a 573-car parking lot, underneath the Lima and Virgen Milagrosa streets.

According to Miraflores Mayor Jorge Muñoz, the new parking lot would consist of 3 underground levels.

Miraflores currently has deficit of 11,000 parking spaces, Peru21 reported.

Implementation of the project will require an investment of about $8.5 million, which would be financed by Concesión Estacionamientos Miraflores S.A.

The project would give Miraflores about 13 million soles over 30 years, Andina reported.

Meanwhile, the district is also planning a remodeling of Larco Ave. The remodeling, the daily said, would eliminate many of the above ground parking spaces on the street, which would allow for more lanes, and a bike path.
