Lima to see cloudy skies this week, says Senamhi

According to the country’s National Meteorology and Hydrology Agency (Senamhi), Lima will continue to experience cloudy skies and light drizzle until Friday.

Senamhi meteorologist Weidi Flores said the light rain was caused by the convergence of clouds from the Pacific Ocean and from the Andes region, which descended upon the Peruvian coast.

“It is likely that we will have partly cloudy skies in eastern Lima, in districts like Cieneguilla, due to the presence of low cloud coverage, and high cloud formation from the mountains,” he said, according to Peru21.

Last week Senamhi warned of high levels of UV radiation over the summer months, and urged Peruvians to take precautions.

The agency said the regions of Lima, Piura, Ica, and Tacna had registered the highest UV radiation levels.
