Renowned Peruvian photographer Mario Testino wins the lifetime achievement award at the Infinity Awards in New York City.
Testino will be awarded the lifetime achievement award in New York City at the Infinity Awards on April 30.
Infinity Awards will also recognize Mexican Graciela Iturbide with the Cornell Capa Award for lifetime achievement. The world of photography is recognizing her for exemplary work in depicting Cuban life and people, and as well Mexico, Panama, and Madagascar. She has displayed her work in the Getty Museum Pompidou Center in Paris and the Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
Past winners of the lifetime achievement award preceding the famed Peruvian photographer include Annie Leibovitz, Cornell Capa and Elliott Erwitt.
They were similarly all awarded in the International Center of Photography in New York. The center has been one of the most prestigious in the field of photography and started the Infinity Award ceremonies in 1985, according to El Comercio
Mario Testino, in addition to bringing Peruvian flare to the photography world, he is known in Lima as the founder of MATE, the Mario Testino Assocation He opened the museum, located in bohemian Barranco, to promote art and culture in his native country.
