The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism (Peru) presented before the agro-exporter community the Pisco, Spirit of Peru brand, with the objective of positioning pisco as a unique beverage.
The head of this Ministry, Edgar Vásquez, said that pisco is recognized as a Peruvian drink in 71 countries. “Besides, Peruvian pisco exports added up to $6 million US dollars and it is expected to achieve $7 million US dollars in 2019”, El Peruano wrote.
Vásquez also added that agro-exports have consolidated as the second economic activity that generates income for the country, after mining.
“He said that there are 2,500 agro-exporting companies with more than 500 products, from which 208 reached record shippings to 142 international markets”, El Peruano informed.
