A 27-year-old Brazilian hiker was found alive on the Churup mountain in Huaraz, after having gone missing three days before.
According to El Comercio, Cludiney Monteiro was found in a 300-meter-deep ravine by the Peruvian police’s high mountain rescue team.
Reportedly Monteiro had been hiking on his own when he fell down the ravine.
Once found, his rescue from the ravine, the daily said, took over 7 hours.
The Brazilian was taken to the local Víctor Ramos Guardia Hospital, in Huaraz, where he was treated for injuries, but is otherwise stable.
