New Miraflores app lets residents report problems via mobile phone

See a badly parked car? Spot some littering? Is a road in need of repair? Well, if you live in Miraflores, there’s an app for that.

The municipality of Miraflores has developed a smartphone application that will let residents report problems in real time, hopefully leading to more effective and timely solutions to public issues.

According to El Comercio, users will also be able to send photos and audio, as well as registering the exact location of the problem they want to report.

The app has eight options for reporting problems: public cleanliness, nonfunctioning stoplights, public parks and gardens, damaged road or sidewalk, bothersome noises, public lighting, poorly parked cars, and other issues. According to Peru21, after reporting an issue, users will receive a tracking number so they can stay updated on the status of the problem that they brought to light.

Also included on the Miraflores app is a stream of announcements and warnings to inform users about detours, public work projects, and municipal events that may be of interest to residents. The app also links to the official municipal Miraflores Twitter account.

The app is free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The above images are screenshots of the app that were taken this afternoon. Miraflorinos will now be able to register complaints and engage with the municipality via their smartphones.
