“I promise that 5,000 houses will be built for those affected by the 2007 earthquake under the ‘Techo Propio’ program from here until December,” said Peru’s Housing Minister, Francis Allison, during an interview in RadioProgramas del Perú.

Allison announced that he will assume the head office of the Fund for the Reconstruction of the South (FORSUR) once the its new regulations are published in the official gazette El Peruano, which would be no longer than Thursday.

The Minister admitted that there have been delays in the reconstruction works.

“After two years, I understand many people have doubts. It’s true that the works are taking too long, but it’s also true that many works have been finished, too,” he sentenced.
