Interpol arrested in Lima the Peruvian citizen Juan Mario Quiroz del Valle, who was accused by US justice of defrauding nearly 300 people with fraudulent loans on real estate.
Quiroz (55) was captured in San Isidro (the Limenian financial district) by a group of International Police (Interpol) officers.
Quiroz, one of the five most wanted scammers in the world, has allegedly committed fraud against more than 290 people who lost their homes and all their capital.
More than 20 financial institutions were also defrauded by Quiroz. Hugo Canevaro, Quiroz’s lawyer, said that US authorities have requested the extradition of his client, who must stand trial in a federal court.
