Railway to Machu Picchu in use


The railway
to Machu Picchu was covered with mud and stones due to an avalanche, while more
than one thousand tourists waited to visit the beautiful and ancient city.

Yesterday in
the morning the way was cleaned and the trains were able to operate again to take
the tourists to the worldwide famous city of the Inkas.

This is the
rainy season in Peru’s highlands and rains can been steady and heavy causing
floods and avalanches. There have been registered floods in Quispicanchis in
Cusco were 50 houses were affected by the rains. Many of these areas are
isolated and people have no means to prevent disasters.
