FLSmidth to supply US $30 million mine equipment in Peru

Danish cement and minerals systems provider FLSmidth & Co A/S  said today that it has won a contract, worth more than US$30 million, to supply equipment for the Toromocho copper mine in Peru.

The order was placed by mining company Minera Chinalco Peru SA, owned by Chinese state-run investor Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco). The mine is located some 140 km east of Lima.

FLSmidth will provide engineering and design, and will manufacture and deliver the equipment, including two overland conveyors, seven in-plant conveyors, and two belt feeders. The overland conveyor will have a length of 5.2 km and 9 MW of installed power.

The contract is expected to have a positive effect on FLSmidth’s earnings until commissioning is completed in late 2010.
