Puno’s festivity will be launched in Lima, too

The popular Puno festivity will land in Lima; the president of the Regional Federation of Folklore and Culture of Puno, Yenny Silva Quispe, confirmed that the Virgen de la Candelaria Festival 2010 will officially start on Tuesday, December 15th.

The event will be held at the Government Palace in Lima, with the presence of President Alan García Pérez, Congressmen from Puno and Miss Peru Karen Schwarz.

According to a spokesperson from the Federation, Puno authorities and international media have been invited, too.

The official launch of the Virgen de la Candelaria Festival in Lima will start a month of full of different events regarding to culture, customs, devotion and feelings of the devotees, who will perform dances such as Morenada, Diablada, Ayarachis, Sikuris and others.
