Chilean candidate Piñera says he’ll maintain good relations with Peru if elected

Chilean presidential candidate Sebastian Piñera said he will seek to maintain the best possible relations with Peru and its president, Alan Garcia Perez, if elected as the new Chilean Head of State on Sunday’s presidential elections.

"I appreciate Peru and I hope to establish cordial relations with President Garcia, as befits two countries that share a common future," he pointed out.

Piñera, pictured here, said he has a lot of respect for President Garcia, whom he met several years ago when he was an APRA’s leader.

"I met him many years ago when he was APRA’s General Secretary before his first term as President from 1985 to 1990, when he used to play his guitar and sing very well," he told Peruvian TV channel Frecuencia Latina.
