The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) already signed with China does not have yet an exact date for coming officially into effect; however, the Peru’s Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Eduardo Ferreyros, estimates that it may happen during the first quarter of 2010.
"Peru’s Customs Office is working full time in order to have all the necessary systems ready for the new tariff regime ready, and the FTA will come into effect once this process is complete,” said Ferreyros.
He said that Mincetur did its work in the process of negotiation and signing of the agreement, and now it is up to other governmental institutions.
